Private rental prices in the UK displayed a steady ascent, registering a 6.2% increase over the 12 months leading to January 2024, a pattern unchanged for the second consecutive month, as per the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The ONS report delineated a regional breakdown of this increment, citing a 6.1% rise in England, 7.0% in Wales, and 6.8% in Scotland.

Within England, London recorded the highest annual percentage change in private rental prices during the same period, standing at 6.9%, while the North East exhibited the lowest, with a 4.7% increase. These figures underscore the varied landscape of rental price dynamics across different regions.
